Please Help! files marked as read only will not change
I opened Windows Explorer to find that Program Files is Read-Only!! WTF?!?!?! I right-clicked, chose Properties, and unchecked Read-Only. It gave me the option to apply the changes to all sub-folders and files, which of course I chose. After it was done, I re-opened Eudora and got the same error message!

The IDE is forever throwing stuff into your source files, and it is quite an eye opener to see just what it does change without you even knowing about it. It is unfortunate that read-only just doesn't work with the BDB IDE. You'll run into all kinds of headaches if you make your files read-only, as you've already

Hi
As you know, the Program Files folder is a special folder and normally has its read-only attribute set in order for it to display a warning message when viewed as a Web page - read-only enables the desktop.ini and folder.htt files to be parsed. For ages my folder has had "read-only" marked but recently,

Making CDR files NOT "Read Only"
When you copy a file off a cdrom the file is always marked as read -only. Just right click the file itself, properties, then uncheck the box. If that doesn't work, then it sounds like the file is corrupt. Don Wash wrote: Hi All! I have been experiencing this extremely frustrating problem today, on my computer using

How do I un-set read only for all files and folders?

If you're trying to decrypt through the UI (not commandline "cipher.exe"), files and folders should decrypt whether they're marked read-only or not. The shell will flip the r/o attribute off, decrypt the files and folders, then reapply the r/o attribute to the files/folders that had it before the decrypt.
